2016 April Sozenji Zen Temple Hanamatsuri

Today I visited Sozenji Buddhist Temple for their Hanamatsuri Event.

This is a beautiful converted church which was founded 45 years ago.

As usual I arrived much too early. But I could see that they had already begun to prepare, at least the day before if not earlier.

As the morning progressed more and more flowers arrived.

The Sangha at Sozenji is lead by Kurai Sensei, whose father founded the temple 45 years ago.

They were very welcoming and wonderful to spend the morning with.

I hope this post wets your appetite to go visit JANM - Japanese National Museum.
We purchased a family membership for 2015; but this summer our daughter is an intern there , so it gave us a well deserved impetus to visit more often even than we expected to.

JANM Entrance 8-14-15. Tanabata Flying in the front today. Next door too, has a whole host of them. We didn't get the chance to see more of the Tanabata, please come check it out for yourself.
But we did go inside for a look at the Samurai Exhibit.
